I recently took some time off to balance the workload I have had over the past years and center. A bit of distance to the digital world helps to recalibrate and doing someone for your health, posture and fitness is not the worst as well. I want to create more content again and will return to writing here about what i hear and see about the digital world.
In the past 6 months of absence a lot has happened that i want to write about:
- A First and second Unicorn has been found in the Middle East: Local bread Souq.com and Careem.com found investors valuing their companies at 1 Billion dollar +
- The charismatic Head behind Retail Giant Emaar wants to use MENA funds to build an unseen E-commerce giant with the creation of noon.com , acquisitions in Logistics (Aramex) and influencer marketing (Diwan group) and other projects.
- I looked into several software services beyond my favorite topics of data driven marketing in Social marketing: Areas that I find really interesting are
- Beacon technology with reach media capabilities
- Virtual Reality interfaces and authoring beyond the marketing aspects
- Blockchain virtual currency payments in retail POS and E-commerce interfaces
- Mobile App store optimization and mobile intelligence for organic download
- I have launched a chinese mobile game in the Iranian app store environment. Really interesting dynamics in that awesome environment full of opportunity for forward business men.
- One of the hottest topics is actually translation. A company active in 17 languages and having 40000 content pages with ongoing translation needs has a huge potential to save money with machine learning translation process management SAAS. these clients go crazy on the scale of savings and efficiency to gain from technology.
So during the next few days before we head into 2017 I will write more elaborations on the above and commit to providing more content to discuss!
